MPC Women's Ministries -

The Moorpark Presbyterian Church Women’s Ministries offers numerous opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and fun to women of all ages. Throughout the year we have various activities for the purpose of developing friendships with other Christian women, praying for one another, sharing and being renewed in God and his Word. All women are invited and encouraged to attend any and all activities that interest them! We also encourage women to become involved in the planning and organization of the various events.

Women's Luncheons -

We hold luncheons twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. They are different themes and we have someone speak on the theme at the time. There is usually a fee for the luncheons as this is our fundraiser for retreat scholarships.

Sign-up by calling the church office at (805) 529-8422, or at the Women’s Ministry table.

Ladies Night Out -

Every other month we have a Ladies Night out. Sometimes we go to a local restaurant. Some months we meet at the church and do a craft after we enjoy a meal together.

Join us for a "foodie" evening, Thursday, August 4 at 7:30 p.m.- where we can pretend we're on Top Chef!

First we'll bake some delicious chocolate cupcakes - where we will replace a lot of the "non-healthy" fats with the "good" kind of fat found in avocados. The fresh avocados are straight from a local orchard.

While the cupcakes are baking, we shall taste test a variety of avocados grown all around Moorpark. Did you know there are over 500 different varieties of avocados?! The look, feel, and tastes are very different. Of course, there will be plenty of guacamole to go around!

RSVP to Judy Koch, or call the church office.

Women’s Breakfast -

These events alternate with Ladies Night Out. We meet at someone’s home on a Saturday morning where someone will share a devotional as we enjoy breakfast together.

Annual Retreat -

Our retreat committee spends the whole year planning our Annual Retreat. The retreat is normally held in January of each year. We begin on a Friday night and end around Sunday at noon. There is a different speaker and program every year. We have been blessed with being able to provide scholarships for women in our church who wish to come but may need financial help.

Our next retreat will be held in January 20 - 22, 2012 with speaker Jan Johnson.

Faith Lifts -

Solitude time with Jesus. We will meet in the Fireside room, read scripture and spend time alone with Jesus.

Our meetings are held throughout the year for planning our yearly activities. We encourage all women who would like to be a part of this ministry to join us at any of our meetings. We are always looking for new ideas and new faces!

Our Mission

To minister to women in all stages of life by serving our Lord Jesus Christ in friendship and strong community.  We will provide activities and spiritual education that ensure the opportunity for each woman to search for and fulfill her unique mission, develop and use her spiritual gifts and talents, and grow in her walk as a Christ-centered woman throughout the continuum of her life in her family, the church and her community.

God may not provide us with a perfectly ordered life, but what He does provide is Himself, His presence, and open doors that bring us closer to being productive, positive, and realistic Christian women.”

Judith Briles

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together but let us encourage one another”

Hebrews 10:24-25
